Lagunitas.com “For those mornings when you have to cut right to the chase, this is the one. Sure to blast through just about anything still lingering from the night before, this mouthful of Hops and huge rich Malt has a gaurantee built right into the name!”
Now let’s get to the beer!
Style: American Double/Imperial IPA
Appearance: A shade of orange/yellow. Very light haze. Half finger head that fades fairly quickly. Not much lacing.
Scent/Smell: Lots of citrus hops as you would expect from “Hop Stoopid”. Pineapple and grapefruit aromas, in addition to some orange and a touch of lemon. Nice sweet caramel malts as well.
Taste: Very light caramel sweetness at the onset. Then an earthy bitterness with citrus and floral hints hits the tongue, a lot going on here. In the end, there is a piney, grassy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and well carbonated. Quite dry, not the easiest going down.
Drink with (food): Grilled meats, fish, earthy cheeses.
I love this beer, I wish that I could have it on a more regular basis. Lagunitas, good job!
